Evidently food service was backed up as well as bussing, somehow a theme for our evening in Downtown San Jose, which the owner/usher/server of this place converted into seating delays. The food is good but I did not wow me. (Old fashioned and Moscow Mule!) I would go here again but probably not to celebrate anything special because it wasnt the best choice for getting many dishes to share. It is amazing they can keep these century old instruments and paper rolls in such good conditions. Too understaffed. Very poor and lazy plating. Sat outside. The cauliflower pasta was super oily and a bit sour. The restaurant has an open-air patio with seating for seasonal Mexican eats, cocktails, live bands, and a party vibe. Enjoy! 1. the Pimentos de Paquillo - Red Sweet Paquillo Peppers stuffed with seafood and served in a lobster sauce served with pine nuts - while the stuffed peppers were good and seafood fresh, the lobster sauce seemed to be milk based with little to no hint of lobster , over cooked until it had burnt cream film and some nuts floating in it. It is pricey so one star off. We will be back. Rating 2/5. The best dishes were the appetizers. Not much else to report. We want to come back again sometime.
